#3: Fairmont Banff Spring Hotel (Canada)

Fairmont Banff Spring Hotel located in Alberta is considered to be one of the most haunted places in the world. The construction of this hotel was started in 1886 and was opened in 1888. Though there are many legends surround this hotel but there are 2 legends that are the most about this hotel.

The first and probably the most famous legend regarding this place is the ghost of a bride. Many people claimed to have encountered her spirit in many parts of this hotel. It is said a bride died here by falling from stairs during her wedding day back in 1920 and her spirit now haunts this hotel.

The second legend is about a ghost of a bellboy named sam who worked here until his death in 1975. It is said that his ghost still roams here and does the duty that he used to do and the staff of this hotel knew this legend.
 
There is a famous story regarding this legend of sam once an old lady had some issues to open her door to her room so she called the reception and asked for help so the receptionist told her to wait for 15 minutes as the bellboy of that hotel was busy in another work and when the bellboy came after completing his work he saw that her door was open and when he enquired about this to that woman, she told that an old man wearing a plaid coat helped her to open the door. The character that the women described was that of sam.

Room no 873 is considered to be the most haunted room in this entire hotel. As per the legend, a man killed his wife and his kids in her and he then committed suicide in here. Many tourists who stayed in this room experienced many strange things, hearing strange noises at night, and seeing bloodstained handprints on the wall, etc...


#2. Dragsholm Slot (Denmark)

Located in Zealand. Dragsholm Castle is one of the oldest secular buildings in Denmark. The original building of the Dragsholm Castle was built in the early 13th century by the Bishop of Roskilde. Dragsholm Castle is also infamous as a haunted place and is regarded as the most haunted place in Denmark.

During the 14th century, this castle was used as a prison for noble prisoners and many prisoners died here. Many famous people such as James Hepburn 4th Earl of BothwellMary, Queen of Scots etc.., were also imprisoned here.

Though it is rumored that many ghosts haunt the Dragsholm Castle. There are also two famous legends surrounding Dragsholm Castle.

The first legend surrounding this hotel is the ghost of James Hepburn who died here. Many claimed to see his ghost riding a horse on the premises of this hotel during night time. 
 
The second and the most famous legend surround this place is a ghost of a lady (also known as the white lady). The sightings of the white lady are widely reported from the main building and its premises. It is said that once a girl named Celina, the daughter of a nobleman, falls in love with a commoner. Her father fixed her marriage with a boy from another noble family, and when he found out the relationship of her daughter with a commoner he grew furious and he imprisoned Celina at Dragsholm Castle. Celina was chained to a wall in the basement and later her captors built a wall around her and left her to die. Her skeleton was in the wall in the early 20th century during a renovation.

Stanley Hotel is considered to be the most haunted hotel in the world. Stanley Hotel is a 3-star hotel located in Estes Park, Colorado, and offers a fantastic view of the rocky mountains and excellent service but is also infamous as a haunted place. It is said that the owners of this hotel haunt this place along with many other ghosts.
