India is a country with many tourists destinations. But along with that there also some destinations which are infamous as a Haunted. Here is a list of the top 10 most haunted places in India.

#10: Agrasen Ki Baoli

Agrasen Ki Baoli is a stepwell in New Delhi which is considered to be built by King Agrasen during Mahabharat era and was later rebuilt in the 14th century. Many people believe that this stepwell is haunted. It is said that this stepwell was once filled with black coloured water which was cursed. according to the legend this black coloured water forces every people who come here to water to commit suicide by jumping into the stepwell. Now it is said that the ghosts of the people who died here haunt this place.

 At present this stepwell is dry and Agrasen Ki Baoli is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Delhi. But many tourists also claimed to have paranormal experiences here.

Shaniwar Wada is a castle in Pune. This castle was built in 1732 by Maratha This castle is very famous for its beautiful architecture. Apart from its beautiful architecture, this castle is also infamous as a haunted place. It is said that a Peshwa of the Maratha Empire was brutally killed here and it is said that ghost of the Peshwa haunts this castle. It is also said that the screams of that Peshwa can be heard at the premises of this castle during night time.


#8. Dumas Beach

Dumas Beach in Gujarat is infamous in whole India for its hauntings. Many people claimed to hear strange noises and some also claim to witness shadowy figures roaming around the beach. It is also said that some people who went to this beach during nighttime disappeared mysteriously without any trace.

#7 Writers Building

Writers Building located in KolkotaWest Bengal was built in 1777 by British East India Company and was used as an office of the writers of East India Company. It is said that a British officer named colonel Simpson along with some other officers were killed in this office back in 1930 and now this building is considered to be haunted by their ghosts.

#6 Vrindavan Society

Vrindavan Society in Thane is very infamous as a haunted place. It is said that a man committed suicide by jumping from a building named 66B. After this incident locals claim to see a shadowy figure jumping from that building. The guards who do night duty in the society also claim to have many paranormal experiences there during nighttime.


#5: Tower of Silence

Tower of Silence is a Parsi cemetery located in Malabar Hills, Mumbai. As per the Parsi rituals the bodies of the dead person is left to decompose on the roof of this tower.

It is said that screams and laugh can be heard from this place during nighttime. Many others claim to see scary figures in here. The fear of this place is so much that the people stay away from this place and no one dares to enter here alone even in the daytime. 

#4: Sanjay Gandhi National Park

Sanjay Gandhi Nation park in Mumbai, Maharashtra is very famous for its greenery and the animals in there. But this national park is also infamous for its paranormal incidents.

It is said that the ghost of a lady roams around the forest during nighttime and many rangers also claimed to see that ghost.

#3: Mukesh Mills

Mukesh Mill was a textile mill located in Mumbai. This mill was built in the 1860s but was abandoned after a fire broke out in this mill. From then this mill is considered to be haunted.

Most of the people don't dare to visit here. But some people who visited and stayed here during nighttime claimed to have paranormal experiences in this place.

The shooting of many Bollywood films had been done here and many strange incidents also took place while film shooting here.

Due to all of these strange incidents took place here, Mukesh Mills has earned its reputation as a haunted place.

#2 Kuldhara Village

Kuldhara Village, located at Jaisalmer district, Rajasthan is believed to be established in the 12th Century. But 7 centuries later, this village was left abandoned in a hurry.

Even today it is unknown where these villagers went and how they fled. But it is said that those villagers cursed this village before leaving the village forever. According to the curse, no one will ever be able to live here again.

Today this abandoned village is infamous for its hauntings and paranormal incidents.


#1: Bhangarh Fort

Located at Alwar District in Rajasthan. Bhangarh Fort is a 17th-century fort which is regarded as the most haunted place in India. Fear of this Fort among locals is high that no one dares to enter here alone during nighttime and even the Archaeological Survey of India has restricted the entry of this for before sunrise and after sunset.

Though there are many legends regarding the haunting of Bhangarh Fort. But according to the most famous legend, this fort became haunted because of the curse of a black magician.
