Many people have mysteriously died worldwide while hiking. Dyatlov pass incident is a prime example of this type of incidents. But a similar incident took place in Russia (the Soviet Union at that time) just 14 years after the Dyatlov Pass Incident known as the Chivruay Pass Incident.
The Chivruay Pass Incident
Lovozero Massif in Kola Peninsula, Russia |
This team was lead by Mikhail Kuznetsov and Valentin Zemlyanov.
This group started their hiking from Elmorayok pass which was around 2.8 kilometres away from Chivruay pass.
Even at the -24 degree celsius temperature, they were continuing their hiking as they were expert hikers and was also well equipped with hiking gears.
As the day passes by the group decided to set up the camp and stay and the group divided into two which the first 5 hikers decided to stay in the northern part of the Chivruay Pass and the rest of the team set up their camp around 2 km away from others.
Their plan was to return on 31st January. But they never returned.
As they weren't to be seen back, the authorities started searching them.
The search party found the bodies of 5 hikers in the snow with all of their eyes missing.
Also, their facial expressions seemed to be in shock.
As the climate was so harsh at that time, it took the rescue team around 5 months to found the rest of the bodies.
The last body was found on June 1
The condition of the other 5 bodies was similar to the first 5 bodies.
The forensic team stated the cause of death of these hikers as Hypothermia.
Chivruay Pass Incident is often compared with the Dyatlov Pass Incident as there were similar causes of deaths. Also, the theories regarding the deaths of the hikers of Chivruay Pass is considered the same as the Dyatlov pass.
Whatever the theory is, this incident still continues as a mysterious event..
