Kuchisake Onna (Slit Mouthed Woman)




Kuchisake Onna is one of the most infamous Japanese urban legends. According to this legend the ghost of a woman. As per this legend, a ghost of a woman whose mouth has been slit from ear to ear wearing a surgical mask wanders around the deserted streets of japan and targets people.

She asks her prey whether she is beautiful. If the person answers no then she will kill that person. But if the person answers yes, she will remove her mask showing her slit mouth and then ask the same question. If the person still answers yes, she will slice the person's face with her knife to make that person look like her.


Aka Manto (The Red Cape)

Aka Manto also known as the red cape is an infamous Japanese urban legend in which a ghost of a boy is said to haunt the public restrooms of Japan and targets people alone in these restrooms.

The legend says that this ghost asks its prey a question "Do you want a red coloured cape or blue coloured cape". If the person answers red, then Aka Manto will injure that person brutally.

If that person answers blue instead then Aka Manto will strangle that person to death.

Another version of the legend says that Aka Manto will ask to select red or blue coloured paper instead of a cape.  

Teke Teke

Teke Teke is a legend of a ghost of a young girl named Kashima Reiko who died when her lower was separated by a train after she accidentally fell on a train track.

Teke Teke is said to haunt the urban areas near the train stations and deserted streets of japan at night.

As Teke Teke has no legs, it moves with the help of its both hand which

It is said when it moves a "teke teke" like sound can be heard and that's how it got its name

Besides moving with help of hands, it can move very fastly.

It is also said it asks its victim a question, "where her lower body is ?" and if that's the person fails to answer or gives a wrong answer teke teke will cut that in half.

Instead, if that person answers that question correctly then that person can survive 

Hanako San

Hanako San is an urban legend of the ghost young schoolgirl who got killed in a World War II  airstrike at her school toilet as she was hiding there while playing hide and seek.

Another version of this legend says that she was murdered by her abusive parents or teachers or she just committed suicide etc...

Whatever the reason is now her ghost is said to haunt the school toilets in japan.

It is said that Hanako San can be summoned by knocking three times on the third stall of the girl's toilet and asking whether she is in there.

If that person gets a reply from inside the stall it means that Hanako San has successfully summoned.

Upon opening the stall's door a cute young girl can be seen inside.

But according to the legend, her shape quickly changes and she turns three-headed lizard-like scary shape and eats the person alive claiming that he disturbed her privacy.

So it's better not to summon Hanako San.

Kappa

Kappa is an amphibious demon in Japanese folklore. It's a mythical creature more than an urban legend.
It is said that Kappa mainly targets domestic animals and sometimes women. Kappa kills them by drowning and drinks their blood.

But Kappa isn't harmful and antagonistic in nature in most cases. 

If befriended Kappa is said to help humans in agriculture and fishing etc...

It is said that kappa has a vast knowledge of medicines.
